A space for events, shared co-work and community activity

Nestled in the heart of historic Devonport the Guildhall and neighbouring Column are Regency gems by the architect John Foulston, dating from the early 1820s. Renovated by Real Ideas and reopened to the public in 2010, Devonport Guildhall offers space for events, co-work and community activity.

The Column was reopened by Real Ideas in 2013 and offers stunning views across the city and beyond from the viewing platform 124ft above street level.

Heritage Restrictions

Whilst we work to ensure the building is fully accessible to all, we are limited by the heritage building in which we work. The listed building and historic location have certain constraints which unfortunately we cannot avoid or adapt. Where possible we have improved accessibility by ensuring lift access is available however please be aware that some ground floor areas, exterior floors have uneven ground and narrow steps with may limit access to wheelchairs and prams. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building, Devonport Column does not have access for wheelchairs or prams. For further information please contact us or whilst visiting Devonport Guildhall please speak to a member of staff.
