No assistance given!

I tried for about a week to contact someone at Solar edge, by phone, on line, but still have had no response! Our solar panels stopped working on 22 May, and I could not restart! Our inverter is in the loft, but I went up there with my iPad and tried to follow instructions on line, to which there has been no follow up!
I eventually got a local installer to call, and he was able to fix the problem very quickly, and was kind enough to give me his phone number in case I may need him in the future!
Both your phone line and What’s app gave the information they wanted you to hear, then cut off!
I do not consider this a good service. Please reassure me with a phone number that I can speak to a person for future problems.

Sorry to hear about your experience. If you have further issues in the future, please contact the installer who installed your system.

Decent app but very poor battery support. Disappointed.

The app is great for simple set ups but needs a lot of work around the support, visualisation and control of the batteries. My “site” (house) has two separate systems, each inverter on a separate phase and each with its own battery but the app aggregates them so if the total battery percent reports 50% charge level, I can’t tell if that means both batteries are at 50% or one is at zero and the other fully charged which is frustrating as I can’t then make good decisions on whether I have power to spare and could put to good use with the washing machine etc. I also can’t control any of the battery settings from the app, the only way to adjust battery behaviour is to ask the installer to do it, this is an absolute pain as I’d like to adjust these throughout the year as seasons change. A time of use policy is coming apparently but that doesn’t currently work on sites with multiple inverters and even if it did, it’s still far too limited and won’t let me control the battery the way I want too. It’s hard to recommend solar edge batteries to others with these shortfalls and missing functionality, who wants to have to pay their installer every time they need to change a battery setting, not me.

Learning function not good

Whilst the data display on this app is quite good the settings to control importing from the grid are very poor.
We have an electricity tariff which incentives importing cheap energy overnight and disincentives using energy late in the afternoon. The time of use option would ideally allow me to force the battery to charge to a preset level by a particular time of day. Since I know what the weather forecast is and what my plans for energy usage for the upcoming day are.
Instead it tries to “learn” my routine. If you work from home in a somewhat random way this approach is doomed to failure. In addition with this setting sometimes the battery charges overnight and sometimes it doesn’t. I suspect that if the previous day was quite sunny and I didn’t need to draw much from the grid it assumes that I won’t need to draw much the next day, which of course if it is raining I do.
So I guess that a lot of development needs to take place to allow real control of your batteries function.
